The team
The Art of Living is working toward something unfashionably large: a happier, safer world, built on real human values. Most people meet that mission through its programs and volunteers. Increasingly, they meet it through software — and the technology team is the group that builds it, creating products that help the Foundation reach millions of users across the globe.
We're a small, product-focused team with a grand vision, serving stakeholders across a very large organization. Getting the requirements right — the real ones, not the stated ones — is where good products start here. We value collaboration, continuous learning, and real-world impact, and we look for people who are genuinely excited to take on challenging problems in a supportive environment.
The role
We're seeking a Business Analyst to be the bridge between stakeholders and our product and engineering teams — turning business needs into clear, testable requirements that ship the right thing.
What you'll do
The work starts with elicitation: running stakeholder interviews and workshops to uncover the real needs behind stated asks. You'll turn what you learn into clear BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineers and QA can act on directly, and you'll map as-is and to-be workflows — spotting the gaps, redundancies, and opportunities along the way.
You'll work shoulder to shoulder with product and engineering, translating business needs into technical requirements and supporting backlog grooming and sprint planning. You'll keep stakeholders aligned, expectations clear, and decisions documented, and you'll perform light data analysis to inform — and defend — your recommendations.
You'll also support UAT: writing test cases and validating that what was delivered actually meets the requirements.
What you bring
You have three to six years as a Business Analyst, ideally embedded in software or product teams, with strong elicitation and documentation skills and a knack for asking the right questions. You're fluent in writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and comfortable with BPMN, flowcharts, and workflow diagrams.
You're data-literate: you can structure a problem and back your conclusions with evidence. You can lead a room of stakeholders to a decision. And you've worked in Agile/Scrum with tools like Jira and Confluence, plus wireframing tools such as Figma or Balsamiq.
Bonus points
Extra credit for SQL or hands-on analytics tools, domain experience with consumer apps, wellness, education, or nonprofit products, a BA certification such as CBAP or CCBA, and a basic understanding of APIs and system design.
What we offer
Hybrid working, a supportive and mission-driven environment, and the chance to shape technology that reaches millions of people and does real good in the world.
What we're searching for
Titles aside, here's the shape of the person we're looking for. You turn vague stakeholder asks into clear, testable requirements. You can map a business process and immediately see the gaps in it. You write user stories engineers actually find useful. You keep stakeholders aligned and expectations honest — and when you make a recommendation, there's data behind it.
Apply for this role
Share a requirements document, a set of user stories, or an analysis you produced — ideally something that shaped what got built. Remember to drop a link.
